St. Kizito Hospital

STACC has supported the Children’s Ward at St Kizito Hospital in Matany, north‑east Uganda, since 2003. The ward treats around 8,000 children every year, and STACC contributes approximately half of its running costs. This support covers staff salaries, medicines, laundry services, and essential clinical supplies.

The hospital operates a busy outpatient department for children and delivers community outreach clinics in remote areas. To strengthen local nutrition, STACC has funded a vegetable garden and provided a small herd of goats, giving children access to much‑needed milk. The most common conditions treated include malaria, respiratory infections, and intestinal disorders. Poor nutrition remains a significant and ongoing challenge in the region.

St Kizito Hospital also hosts a Nursing School, established in 1984 - read more about Matany School of Nursing and Midwifery.
