Since 2016, STACC has supported the Children’s Ward at St John’s Hospital in Aber, northern Uganda. The ward admits around 4,000 children each year, and STACC contributes approximately 50% of its annual running costs. This support covers staff wages, medicines, laundry services, and essential clinical supplies.
The ward treats a wide range of childhood illnesses, with malaria, upper respiratory tract infections, and poor nutrition being the most common and persistent challenges.

Your contribution enabled us to provide essential medical treatment, nutritious meals, and compassionate nursing care to children admitted with severe illnesses. Despite ongoing financial challenges, your assistance ensured the continuous availability of life-saving medicines, allowing us to provide timely and effective treatment for malaria, severe infections, pneumonia, and other critical childhood illnesses. In addition, your support significantly strengthened our nutrition and therapeutic feeding programme. Many malnourished children received specialised nutritional care, enabling them to recover, regain strength, and return to their families healthier and with renewed hope.
