The removal of petrol subsidies by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 2024 led to a rise in inflation from 20% to 34%. This caused a steep increase in food prices, making it difficult for poor families to feed their children. In response, the STACC Board granted permission to purchase and distribute food items to children in clinic communities to supplement their parents' provisions and mitigate the effects of hunger on their health. The food distribution exercise benefited 442 children across ten communities with each child receiving approximately 1.7 kg of rice, 1.5 kg of beans, and 2 to 3 packs of indomine.  The video below shows mothers at Edunabon thanking STACC-ILEIFE for the food distribution.
