STACC supports the BION project to relieve Maasai children from malaria and diarrhoeal disease.  The project is registered with the Kenyan government and is located in Kajiado County, southern Kenya. Malaria and poor nutrition are the key challenges. The focus of the project is on distribution of insecticide-treated bednets; better nutrition; safe water; and improved personal hygiene education.  Read more about the project from the Director, Seleina Limion.

In February 2023, BION provided support for Hekima Home and School in Kajiado County in south-west Kenya. Hekima is a school which looks after children in the most urgent need of rescue and care. All girls come to the school with traumatic pasts, some have been orphaned, others abused or abandoned, some are survivors of sexual violence and arrive with PTSD. Some are living with HIV and others have been orphaned by the virus. No matter their story the school is there to help them heal physically and emotionally by providing medical care, counselling, nutritious food and meeting all their basic needs. The school values all the girls for both who she is now and who she can become in the future.
