Since 2003 STACC has contributed to the costs of running the Children’s Ward at St Kizito Hospital, Matany, Uganda. Since then, 62,000 children have been admitted as inpatients, with STACC contributing currently about a quarter of the annual running costs. The hospital is administered by the Comboni Fathers.
Malaria and respiratory tract infections account for over half of hospital admissions. Malnutrition is one of the top five causes of death in the under-fives.
